Earrings History: Earrings Across Time

Jewelry has its roots in humanity’s earliest origins, and earrings are part of that story. When did we first start accessorizing with this form of jewelry? You can see for yourself! Earrings dating back to 2600-2500 B.C. (that’s over 4,000 years ago) exist today in museums as proof. We’ve come a long way from fashioning earrings from gold sheet to today’s intricate gemstone designs. Learn about earrings across time in our brief guide to earrings history and influential jewelry eras.
